Calgary, Alberta, November 18, 2002 - Delivering on its commitment to bring imagery of distinct visual and technical quality to professional creatives, Veer today announces the addition of the Corbis Motion library to its extensive collection of stock footage. Veer now offers over 100 titles of broadcast-quality motion for use in film, television, and interactive design.
The use of stock footage has increased significantly. According to a recent survey, 37% of creatives noted that they had licensed motion in the past year, up nearly 15% from 2001 [Source: Graphic Design USA: October, 2002]. Responding to this increased demand for moving imagery among its customers, Veer brings together a full spectrum of motion content from such leading providers as FPS, Digital Vision, and RubberBall, plus newly added Corbis Motion.
“The explosion in content creation for film, web design, DVD authoring, interactive television, and game development has heightened the need for first-rate motion footage,” said Brock Bohonos, one of the founding partners of Veer. “Veer’s motion collection helps fulfill the increasingly sophisticated needs of motion graphics designers and editors, while saving them time and money.”
With 37 new titles from Corbis Motion, plus 6 new titles from FPS this month, Veer offers a strong breadth of subject categories among its collections, including filmed lifestyle, business, travel, and sports footage, and computer-generated (CGI) motion with conceptual and abstract themes. Additionally, Veer brings the newest motion collections to creatives first by introducing world premieres, such as the recently released Organica and Frequency collections by FPS.
Motion titles are supplied on dual-platform (Macintosh/Windows) CD collections in digital NTSC format. Individual motion files are delivered in QuickTime .mov format with JPEG compression. CD collections include full-screen (720 x 486 pixel) movies at 30 fps. Prices for CD collections range from US$499 to $599 and include up to 69 clips per collection. Every movie from each title can be previewed online, and all motion titles are available for purchase at veer.com/motion
