Veer Adds Image Zoom and Font Previewing Technology

New tools improve creative confidence, streamline workflow

Calgary, Alberta, December 12, 2002 - Veer, a provider of unique visual elements and design-related products, today announced the addition of Image Zoom and “Flont” technologies to its web site. Users can now both magnify images and preview typefaces before they buy, exclusively at veer.com.

Veer recognizes that creatives choose images based on subject matter and composition, but also on technical quality. Veer’s new Image Zoom technology (based on Macromedia Flash) allows creatives to easily view high-resolution product details in real time, streamlining the creative process considerably. Image buyers can see grain, focal points, sharpness, background elements, and other fine details, allowing them a high degree of confidence in their creative decisions.

Image Zoom is available on photographs and illustrations from six brands on veer.com, including Digital Vision, Image Source, and CSA Images. Using Image Zoom is easy and intuitive. Site registrants simply click a comp image to launch a pop-up window. They then click anywhere on the image to zoom into an area. Clicking and dragging lets them “pan” within the magnified view. Veer’s type previewing interface, Flont, allows creatives to view samples of their headlines in fonts available from veer.com. Users can easily compare different typefaces from leading brands such as the Adobe Type Library and Letraset Fontek and from such innovative foundries as Alias, Device, and ShinnType. Flont is available on individual type display pages at veer.com
