Veer nominated for Webby Award

Veer’s online initiative Build Your Own World has been nominated for a Webby Award in the Other Advertising: Game or Application Category.

Build Your Own World was the online companion piece to Veer’s March 2006 print catalog A World of Creative Possibilities which used the full range of Veer’s visual elements to provide a whirlwind tour of an engaging, isometric world, densely packed with pop culture references. From Tetris to Moby Dick, the Beatles to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Build Your Own World allowed users to express themselves by creating their own world from the same elements used in print. Thousands of people created their own worlds to share with Veer’s online community which are now archived in an online gallery.

Now in its 11th year, the Webby Awards received over 8,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide. Winners are awarded in over 100 categories which will be announced in early May.

New this year is the People’s Voice Award where the public votes for their winner in web and interactive categories. Vote for Build Your Own World before April 27. (Voting requires online registration.)
