Veer invites design students to apply for internship program

Student will join Veer’s award-winning in-house creative team

Calgary, Alberta, February 21, 2008 - Veer, a producer and provider of visual elements and design-related products is now accepting applications for its internship program from design students across North America.

“We’re strong believers in formal design education.” Says Veer’s Global Creative Director, Sheldon Popiel. “This internship lets students use what they’ve learned in a real-world situation. Not only do they get to draw from our incredible range of products, they get to work with experienced designers on real projects with real deadlines. In turn, our creative team benefits from the fresh perspective they bring to the studio.”

“My time at Veer was an eye-opener in many ways,” says 2007 intern alumni Blake Hicks. “Not only did I get the chance to work with a fantastically talented team of print and web designers, I got to experience life outside my comfort-zone (geographically, especially) and inside an atmosphere that thrives on fostering creativity.” Hicks spent July and August in the Calgary office, and took on a variety of projects, with “substantial responsibility,” he notes.

Since completing his internship, Hicks, a fourth-year graphic design student, was voted “Outstanding Design Student” by the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction at Auburn University.
