Veer wins Prism Award for coaching initiative

July 2, 2008, Calgary – Veer, a leading provider of stock photography, illustration and type,
has won the 5th annual Prism Award for excellence in organizational coaching in the large
company category. The award is presented by the International Federation of Coaches and
the Calgary Association of Professional Coaches to recognize a company’s commitment to
coaching and leadership development.

In April 2007, Veer’s training and development manager and leadership coach, Sue Lyons and
Veer’s HR team, with support from local professional coaches Len Huckabay and Dianne
Quinton, developed and implemented a training program that incorporated individual and
group coaching for Veer’s executive team and managers.

The program covers everything from effective team relationships, performance management
and stress management to teaching managers to be good coaches themselves. Not only do
participants benefit from the program, the results cascade out to the rest of the company.
“The coaching program has had a positive impact on our managers’ ability to lead focused,
engaged teams through the tremendous growth and change we’ve experienced over the last
two years,” says Lyons.

The winner of the Prism Award is chosen from among many applications by professional
coaches and executives who are familiar with coaching.
